Senior Capstone
The Senior Capstone was developed in an attempt to allow students the opportunity to design their own educational experience; develop skills, attitudes, and values of a responsible adult. The central idea is that what is being tested in the classroom does not always prove the ability to apply knowledge. The test of Capstone, and of life, is not what a student can do under a teacher’s directions, but what can he or she do as an individual. Students are asked to do something that extends their learning, stretches their potential, and challenges their abilities in some way. They will determine what that is. The goal is to create an experience that they are passionate about, and is positive, meaningful, and relevant. The objective for each student is to, have an experience, document that experience, and reflect on
what impact that experience had on you as a person.
This mentorship experience will serve as my Senior Capstone.
